Sandra Gadoury

Sandra Ann “Sandi” Gadoury, 76, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Friday evening, October 27, 2023 at her home with her husband and cat, Karli, by her side. Born February 28, 1947 in Lowell, MA, she was a daughter of the late Ernest G. and Catherine M. Denver Montmarquet. She was a 1969 graduate of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing in Newport, RI and continued her education at Quinsigamond Community College from 1980-81.

Sandi was employed as a Registered Nurse for most of her career, being licensed in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. She was also employed as a School nurse with the North Kingstown School Department in North Kingstown, RI. Sandi was a member of the Alumni Association of the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Chambersburg. She retired in 2011.

Sandi dedicated her time to service for shut-in’s, where she visited many people with limited mobility and illness. She was the owner operator of her own wholesale arts and crafts business, Sandi’s Arts and Crafts. She enjoyed knitting, ceramics, reading, camping, cross-stitch, and researching the Civil War. She was also a founding sponsor of the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Richard L. Gadoury, whom she married on June 27, 1970; four siblings, James Montmarquet (Kathy) of Amherst, NY, Timothy Montmarquet (Janet) of Charlestown, RI, Daniel Montmarquet of Westerly, RI and Donna Otlowski of Virginia Beach, VA. Aside from her parents, Sandi was preceded in death by her brother Edward Montmarquet.
