Sarah A. Laubs (Unger), 89, a resident of Autumn House West in York, PA and formerly of St. Thomas, PA, went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday morning, January 22, 2021 after a battle with colon cancer. Born October 13, 1931 in Newburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Belle and Henry Unger, and was raised by her eldest sister, Edna Stitt. She had at one time been employed at the former Stanley Company and Knouse Foods, retiring from Pet-Ritz, all in Chambersburg. She volunteered for ten years at the Chambersburg Hospital. Her hobbies included crocheting and knitting. Sarah was a believer in Jesus Christ.
Surviving are her five children, Rosanne Hansen (Douglas) of Idaho Falls, ID, Aileen Bly (Greg) of East Berlin, PA, Anita Shultz (Samuel) of Martinsburg, WV, Michael Laubs (Patricia) of St. Thomas, PA, and Raymond Laubs (Sandra) of Shippensburg; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Laubs on May 10, 1984; twelve brothers and sisters; a step-son, John A. Laubs; two grandsons; and a great-grandson.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
