Sarah “Sally” Hawkins Glaubach, age 80, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 16, 1936, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Virginia Kinney Hawkins.
A 1958 graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Sally received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many activities in addition to raising her family. Her career included working for the Philadelphia Electric Company, Litton, and as a Realtor for several real estate agencies. She managed the Doylestown office of Weichert Realtors. Most recently, Sally was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg, president of the Questers Club (Iron Forge Chapter), past member of P.E.O. Sisterhood women’s organization, and a very active member of her book club. While Sally had a passion for reading, she also enjoyed bible study, crafts and was an avid “lady who lunches.”
Sally is survived by her beloved husband, William Glaubach, whom she married on June 11, 1960; two daughters, Christine Librizzi of Harpers Ferry, WV, and Beth (husband Steve) Jaczun of Fayetteville, PA; and three grandchildren, Christopher and Sarah Jaczun, and Victoria Librizzi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Hawkins.
A memorial service will be held in Sally’s honor on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Scott Bowerman will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sally’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
