Sarah Seymour

Sarah Jane (Smith) Seymour, 39, of Greencastle, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Born March 7, 1976 in Zeeland, MI, she was a daughter of David and Joyce (Lehr) Smith.

Sarah was a 1994 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. She was employed as an LPN and then earned her RN from Mt. Aloysius College in 2003. She had been employed as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Chambersburg Hospital for 10 years and most recently at Carlisle regional Medical Center and Jefferson Medical Center in Ranson, WV. She enjoyed collecting lighthouses, the beach, butterflies, reading and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Sarah is survived by four children, Brook Johannah Seymour (husband Manu Jain) of Hyderabad, India; Josalyn Kathrine Seymour of Shippensburg, Jalen Paige Seymour of Greencastle, and Ian Jacob Gray of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Eshan Dev Jain and Giana Faith Jain; and three siblings, Cheryl Filson (husband Douglas) of Chambersburg, Amy Carlino (husband Matthew) of Syracuse, NY, and Phillip Smith (wife Mary-Beth) of Old Orchard Beach, ME.

A funeral service to honor Sarah’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Chambersburg, 741 S. Coldbrook Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201. Rev. Cheryl Filson will officiate. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Alto Rest Cemetery, Altoona PA, on Tuesday.
