Sarah Wagaman Small, 89, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Providence Place, Chambersburg, with her family by her side. Born on July 2, 1923 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Marjorie (Rock) Wagaman.
She was a 1942 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School and then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot in the Purchasing and Contract Division.
Surviving is her husband of 64 years, Samuel S. Small Jr., Chambersburg. Mrs. Small is also survived by a daughter, Susan M. Sleighter (husband, Dennis) of Chambersburg and two sons, Samuel S. Small III (wife, Nancy) of Chambersburg, and Shane H. Small (wife, Nancy) of Scottsboro, Alabama, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Merle H. Wagaman, who was killed in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.
Private family graveside services will be held in Lincoln Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care & Hospice Inc., 2700 Luther Drive Chambersburg, PA 17202.
