Scherrie Kennedy

October 25, 1932 — February 16, 2013

Scherrie M. Kennedy, age 80, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in her home, while surrounded by her family. Born on October 25, 1932 in Vancouver, British Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. Campbell and Lillian Walker Campbell.

In addition to raising and caring for her family, Scherrie’s many career positions included fashion buyer, professional seamstress, Princess House Sales Director, owner and operator of Cloud Spun Yarn Shop, owner and operator of KSK Catering, and Hospice Volunteer for Lutheran Social Services. Her other interests were reading, knitting, quilting, traveling, volunteering, cooking, writing, baking, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the Open Door Church in Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Harold “Jiggs” Kennedy; three daughters, Katherine L. Snyder (husband Scott) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Laura M. Hill (husband Jeffrey) of Warrenton, VA, Patricia A. Rossman (companion Pete Anderson) of Chambersburg; four sons, John W. Kennedy Sr. (wife Shirley) of Chambersburg, Harold P. Kennedy (wife Brenda) of Sacramento, CA, David W. Kennedy (wife Jennifer) of Port Orange, FL, and Robert G. Kennedy (wife Esther) of Ft. Loudon; one brother, Gordon W. McDonald of Vancouver, BC; 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael Rossman Sr.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 in The Open Door Church, 600 Miller St. Chambersburg, with Rev. Mike Sanders officiating. A private interment will follow in Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Monday in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. There will be no viewing prior to the service in the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care and Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
