Sharon Hawbaker, age 53, of Chambersburg, PA passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born April 9, 1960 in Cortland, NY, she was a daughter of Eileen Casey Durand and the late Robert Durand. A 1979 graduate of James Buchanan High School, Sharon also earned an Associate’s Degree from Hagerstown Community College in Hospitality. She most recently was employed as a sales clerk at Giant in Chambersburg and was previously employed at Sunnyway Foods. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and enjoyed scrapbooking.
She is survived by her husband Melvin Hawbaker, Jr. of Chambersburg; her mother, Eileen Casey Durand of Chambersburg; three sisters, Susan Kriner and husband Richard II, of Chambersburg, Stacey Estepp and husband Daniel of Woodbridge, VA and Margaret Durand of Chambersburg; three nieces, Casey Elizabeth, Caitlyn Nicole, and Clare Noelle Kriner all of Chambersburg; great-niece, Caylea Joy Kriner-Hill; and her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Melvin and Nellie Hawbaker of Marion, PA
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Rev. Paul Theisz officiating. Interment will follow at Corpus Christi Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
