Sharon Hummer

Sharon S. Hummer, age 52, of Mercersburg, PA, passed away in her home on Thursday, June 9, 2011. Born in Waynesboro, PA on April 7, 1959, she was the daughter of Grace Hummer Abbott of Pittsburgh, PA.
Sharon graduated from the Franklin Learning Center, and worked as a laborer for OSI in Chambersburg. She enjoyed shopping, artwork, building things, old movies, the beach, her family and friends, working, and had a general love and appreciation of life. In addition, she was a member of ARC. She had attended Jesus Is The Light Community Church as well as several other area churches during her lifetime.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two brothers, Willard and Billy Abbott; and an Aunt, Sarah Scott; and Laurie Stewart and family. She was preceded in death by an Aunt, Louise Hummer, who was like a mother to her; Wilda Clark, her very dear friend..
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 13, 2011 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment will follow in Brown’s Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, PA.
