Sharon McCarthy

Sharon Reed McCarthy, 66, of Fayetteville, PA, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born March 21, 1947 in Chattanooga, TN, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Virginia Bennett Reed. She was a 1965 graduate of the Seventy First High School, Fayetteville, NC and was employed with Carolina Telephone, now Centurylink. Sharon was well known as being an avid Bridge player around Penn National and the Chambersburg area, acquiring many good friends along the way.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald B. McCarthy, whom she married December 31, 1986; three children, Anthony McCarthy and wife Gina of Cary, NC, Kathleen McCarthy Massarelli and husband Paul of Valrico, FL, and Helen McCarthy Ballentine and husband Scott of Benson, NC; three grandchildren, Tony McCarthy of Cary, NC, Lauren “Ashley” McCarthy of Cary, NC, and Katelyn Massarelli of Valrico, FL; a sister, Sue Hensley and husband Jesse of Laurel, MD; and two nieces, Sarah Hensley of Laurel, MD and Melissa Hensley of San Antonio, TX.
