Sharon Norrie

Sharon F. Norrie, age 71, of Fayetteville, PA went to be with Our Lord, September 20, 2012. Sharon was born in 1941 in Enterprise, OR to Faye and Jesse Schaures.

Sharon graduated from La Grande High School in 1959. Sharon attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, WA. She worked as the bookkeeper and office manage for Manito Country Club in Spokane. She was also a Dale Carnegie graduate and later taught Dale Carnegie Classes. She moved to Torrance, California in the early 60’s and was employed with Tylan Corporation, a semi-conductor manufacturer as their Director of Sales. In 1975, she married Jack J. Norrie and lived in North Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania during the next 37 years. After moving to New Jersey, Sharon started her own company, WES, Inc., a successful semi-conductor sales company. She and Jack raised thoroughbred horses on their farm in New Jersey. Sharon and Jack retired and moved to Penn National, PA in 2000. Her numerous accomplishments included being an active member of the “LHS Class of ‘59”, Chairman of the Pink Ribbon Golf Tournaments, publisher of the Penn National Community Email. Sharon was included in Who’s Who of American Businesswomen.

Survivors include her husband Jack Norrie of Penn National, brothers Lynn (Mel) Schaures of Castle Rock, WA and Lee (Cindy) Schaures of La Grande, OR, sister Wanda (Dale) Case of Cove, OR, step-daughters JoEllyn Norrie of Florida and Jennifer Krammes of Maryland, Josie, her loved border collie, and numerous treasured nieces and nephews. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Jesse Schaures of La Grande, OR, sister Carol Schaures Skillings of La Grande, OR and beloved nephew Darrel Lynn Skillings originally of Wallowa, OR.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 5 to 7 PM at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Graveside services will be in Enterprise, Oregon at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mont Alto Fire Department #1 and Ambulance Service, P.O. Box 310 Mont Alto, PA 17237 or a charity of your choice.
