Sharon R. Peters, 58, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, November 1, 2018 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA. Born March 4, 1960 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Ronald L. and Frances Plasterer Miller. Sharon was a 1978 graduate of James Buchanan High School and was employed at First Data in Hagerstown for 23 years. She was a member of West Side Brethren In Christ Church where she had at one time been involved with numerous activities. She was also a member of Detrich-Brechbill American Legion Post 612 in St. Thomas. Her husband, Roger L. Peters, whom she married February 14, 1995, preceded her in death on September 13, 2008.
She is survived by two sisters, Lurene Schreiber and husband Kent of Greencastle, PA and Melanie Zeger and husband Keith of Mechanicsburg, PA; two nephews, Nick Schreiber of Milwaukee, WI and Colby Zeger of Newark, DE; and a niece, Nicole Matles and husband Chris of York, PA.
A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. A memorial service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 12, 2018 at West Side Brethren In Christ Church, 2665 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor James Sollenberger will officiate. Private interment, prior to the service, will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
An animal lover, it was Sharon’s desire that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory be made to Better Days Animal League, 875 Lincoln Way West, Suite 109, Chambersburg, PA 17201, to financially support the shelter and thrift store.
