Sheila V. Hedden

Sheila V. Hedden, 76, of Chambersburg, passed away on Wednesday morning, July 3rd, 2024 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born June 27th, 1948 in Canisteo, New York, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Dorothy Van Arsdale, and widow to the late William Hedden, who passed before her on August 30, 2009.

Following her high school education, Sheila attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in nursing. She worked many years as a registered nurse at City Hospital; now WVU Hospital, in Martinsburg, WV. Sheila was an avid patron of the YMCA. She loved being near the water, whether it was swimming or relaxing on the beach. She was a great cook and loved preparing meals for everyone. Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Marjorie Danielle Hedden of Williamsport, MD, Dorothea Beth Shustack (husband Daniel), of North Adams, MA, and Andrew Jacob Hedden, of Round Rock, TX; seven grandchildren, Savannah, Jacob, Lydia, William, Josephine, Joel and Rose. Aside from her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Linda Hedden and her brother, Joel Van Arsdale.
