Sheila Vanderau

Sheila Ann Vanderau, 85, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Providence Place. Born April 16, 1933 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Stinson and Mildred Wingert Martinez. Her beloved husband, Robert E. Vanderau, preceded her in death on March 13, 2011.
Sheila was a 1951 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. A homemaker most of her life, Sheila also worked for a number of years for the Chambersburg School District in food service. She was a long time member of Solomon’s United Church of Christ in Chambersburg. She enjoyed gardening and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two children, Vicki Bennett (husband Darrel) of Biglerville, PA and Bradley Vanderau (wife Katharine) of Devon, PA; four grandchildren, Megan Insley (husband Wade) of Salisbury, MD, Brandon Stouffer (wife Deborah) of Chambersburg, Elizabeth Vanderau of Boston, MA, and Claire Vanderau of Devon, PA; and four great grandchildren, Warner and Everett Insley and Finley and Lyla Stouffer. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Atilano Martinez.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
