Shirley (Davis) Brubaker, 85, of Shippensburg, PA passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 in her home. Born July 27, 1936 in Saxton, PA she was the daughter of the late William H. Davis, Sr. and Martha M. (Dickinson) Davis.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the Class of 1954. Shirley was employed as a press operator for Stanley Company, Chambersburg. She retired after nearly 35 years with the company. Shirley was later employed for five years with the Chambersburg Area School District in the cafeteria.
Shirley was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church; the Shippensburg Senior Center now the Branch Creek Place Senior Center where she previously served on the board of directors; the Golden Age Club where she previously served as secretary and the Amvets Post 224 Auxiliary Chambersburg for the past 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, baking Christmas cookies with her family, listening to gospel music and traveling.
She is survived by four children, Janet Buterbaugh and her husband David of Shippensburg, Melony Miller and her husband Robert of Biglerville, Dody Traylor and her husband John of Sweet Water, TN and Thomas McCurdy and his wife Allison Beaston of Mechanicsburg, PA; five step-children, David Brubaker of McConnellsburg, Edward Brubaker of Chambersburg, Gary Brubaker and his wife Jeanette of York, PA, Jay Brubaker and his wife Bonnie of Chambersburg, and Esther Akers and her husband Gary of St. Thomas, PA; a sister, Gloria Secrest of Ortanna, PA; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Glen E. Brubaker who passed away September 5, 2009; a son, George Stiffler and her siblings, William and Franklin Davis and Carol Sarver and an infant brother Arnold.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, September 29, 2021 in the Mt. Pleasant Church United Brethren Church, 2509 Black Gap Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Garry Culler officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday afternoon in the church.
