Shirley Derr

Shirley E. Derr, age 77, of Fayetteville, PA, passed away at the Chambersburg Hospital on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Born in Lewisburg, PA on December 19, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Walter R. Straub, Sr. and Helen E. Schultz.
Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Lewisburg High School and an active member of the National Honor Society. She could always be found reading multiple books, especially about Egyptian History. Shirley also enjoyed spending time with her sister, Dorothy and her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are two children, Carlton B. Derr, Jr. (wife Carol) of Chambersburg, PA and Jill E. Derr of Fayetteville, PA; three grandchildren, Tyler Derr, Aleah Derr and Brea Derr of Chambersburg, PA; and three siblings, Walter R. Straub, Jr. (wife Caroline), Dorothy M. Roan and Sandra J. Bergenstock (husband Charles). In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her twin sister, Rose Ann Straub in infancy and her husband, Carlton B. Derr, Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at 10am in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
