Shirley M. Grayson

Shirley M. Grayson, 80, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at her home. Born September 25, 1944 in Stopover, KY she was the daughter of the late George and Martha (Bowman) Barker. 

She was a graduate of Phelps High School, Phelps, KY. Shirley was employed as a sales manager at The Bon-Ton, formerly Hess Department Store at the Chambersburg Mall. She retired in 2002 after many years of service. Shirley was a former president of the Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid collector of Shelley Cups and Saucers as well as other ceramics. In her earlier years she enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and dancing. Shirley loved her family and she was so loved by them as well. She was always smiling, blowing kisses, and there to give out her hugs at just the right time. 

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, David M. Grayson who she married July 1, 1969; three children, Anthony Grayson wife Jane of Franklin, TN, Lisa Grayson husband Tony of Riverview, FL, and Jennie Petersen of Springdale, AR; five grandchildren, Andrew, Emily, Bailee, Mikayla, and Haven; four siblings, Margie Stump, Randall Barker, Debbie Frey, and Darrell Barker; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two siblings, James “Junior” Barker and Patricia Billingsley.

Services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 27, 2024 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Friday afternoon in the funeral home.
