Shirley J. Kohler, 90, formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Monday evening, March 5, 2018 at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville. Born November 15, 1927 in Union City, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Anna Miller Funk. Mrs. Kohler was employed as a seamstress at the former Stanley Company in Chambersburg for 37 years prior to her retirement. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Brethren Church and Martha Custis Chapter 342 Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Norman Kohler, Sr., preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Kohler of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Larry Kohler and Vanessa Cordell (Bill); two great-grandchildren, Brandy Kohler and Colton Cordell; two great-great-grandchildren, Ariana and Grayson; and two sisters, Betty Daniel and Dorothy Smith, both of Fayetteville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Norman Kohler, Jr., an infant brother, and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, March 9, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ray Seilhamer will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. The family will receive friends from Noon-1:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
