Stephen R. Frey, 68, of Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 19, 1955 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Dorothy Strock Frey.
Stephen was a 1974 graduate of CASHS. He was employed as a glass processor with PPG in Mt. Holly Springs for 47 years. Stephen enjoyed playing sports, coaching and attending his children’s sporting events. A handyman, he was always tinkering with something around the house and willing to help or give advice for his family or friend’s household projects. Stephen was an Oklahoma Sooner’s fan and the last game he got to watch was the Red River Rivalry.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Karen L. Stehle Frey, whom he married on August 11, 1984; two children, Joshua R. Frey (Randi) of Hagerstown, MD, and Kayla R. Etter (Jordan) of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Avery and Jaxen Everitts, and Myles Etter. Aside from his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his brother, Larry R. Frey.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 PM on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the Fleck Community Center, 2998 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
