Sterling E. “Eddie” Keyes, 80, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 9, 1943 in Fayetteville, PA he was the son of the late Nettie E. Keyes.
He attended Chambersburg Area Schools. Eddie was employed for Wilson College in dining services from 2002 until 2015. Prior to his employment at Wilson College he was employed at the Gettysburg Shoe Factory, South Mountain Restoration Center, and Letterkenny Army Depot. He enjoyed fishing; mushroom hunting; going to the casino; and watching, Fox 43 News, westerns, horror films, Phillies baseball, and collegiate and professional basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolly (Tasker) Keyes; two children, Sterling E. Keyes, Jr. and Elizabeth Keyes both of Fayetteville; two siblings, Phyllis Keyes Purvis and Richard Keyes (Kitty); and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Verdella Keyes who passed away January 10, 2015 and a brother, Lawrence “Larry” Brown.
Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
