Steven Dietrich Gotham, age 81, of Fayetteville, PA passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, December 1, 2023. Born in Illinois on June 3, 1942, he was the son of the late William and Mina M. Kuehl Gotham.
Steve was a graduate of Blackburn College, Carlinville, IL with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a graduate of Northern Illinois with his Master’s. He worked as a systems analyst, eventually retiring from Computer Sciences Corporation. He met his eventual wife Linda through work in Alexandria, Virginia before living and working in Germany. They then settled in Chambersburg in 1977 to start their family.
Among his hobbies was a passion for golf. Notably, he had two holes-in-one on 13 and 16 at Penn National’s Iron Forge. Steve also loved to dine out. He became a favorite among the local wait staff at many establishments. However, his most cherished time was spent with his children and grandchildren, who he loved beyond measure.
Surviving are three sons, Steven William Gotham (Vanna Truong) of Las Vegas, NV, Timothy Alan Gotham (Alexandra) of Naples, FL, and Robert Gregory Gotham (Courtney) of Fayetteville, PA; three grandchildren, Sofia Olivia, Gabriella Grace, and Crew Gordon Gotham; two step-grandchildren, Cameron Alexander and Emma Nicole Wolfe; two siblings, Annette E. Gotham Ward and Douglas J. Gotham, both of IL; and his beloved companion of 20 plus years, Deb Crider. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Gotham, in 1995 and a brother, Rodger Gotham.
Funeral services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
