Stewart Michael McCleary, 70, of Chambersburg, PA, died Saturday morning, December 19, 2015 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 19, 1945 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Lester and Elizabeth McCleary. He was employed as a truck driver by Lehman’s Egg Service for many years and also worked as a custodian at the Chambersburg Mall and for the Chambersburg Area School District. He was a member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department and AMVETS Post 224 in Chambersburg. He enjoyed leatherwork; was a black powder enthusiast; and participated in historical reenactments. Stewart was a Green Bay Packers fan and liked NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra Atherton McCleary, whom he married August 3, 2003; two daughters, Amy College and husband Ron of Chambersburg and Mary Lou Goetz and husband Steve of Mercersburg; a step-son, Ken Atherton of Chambersburg; and four grandchildren, Austin College, Arron College, Barbara Goetz, and Stevie Goetz. He is also survived by a sister, Connie Kaiser and husband Lee of Chambersburg a brother, Steve McCleary of Waynesboro; and two aunts, Gertrude Zeager of St. Thomas and Wilda Senseny of Seabring, FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 PM Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
