Suzette Reaid

Suzette “Ettie” Reaid, age 51, passed unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at her home. Born February 3, 1965, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of Robert L. Reaid, Sr. and the late Verdella E. Keith Reaid

.

A 1983 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Ettie went on to attend Shippensburg University, where she was a member of the All Conference Championship Track and Field Team of 1984. She was also the former record holder for the long jump at Ship. Full of life, Ettie was kind, generous, and very spiritual, which led her to be active in numerous churches throughout the Chambersburg area. She enjoyed collecting various trinkets and photos, volunteering in the Chambersburg community, and track and field. She will be greatly missed by her numerous friends in the Chambersburg area, which are representative of her extended family.


Ettie is survived by the rest of the Reaid family: Robert L. Reaid Sr., four siblings, Robena L. Reaid Spangler of Harrisburg, PA, her twin, Suzanne Reaid of Montgomery County, MD, Robert L. Reaid, Jr. of Chambersburg, PA, and Serena Reaid of Chambersburg, PA; nieces, Ashley Kibler, Eryn Spangler, Courtney C. Johnson, Brittany A. Bowman, and Jocelyn C. Ransome. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Regina L. Reaid.


A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ettie’s life on Saturday, November 5, 2016, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Don Baker will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name to the National Eating Disorder Association at 165 West 46th Street, Suite 402, New York, NY 10036 or at www.nationaleatingdisorders.org or to the Chambersburg YMCA Sams Club, 570 E.
