Sylvester “Dwayne” Boxler, 73, of Fayetteville, PA, went to his Heavenly home Monday, December 9, 2013. Born August 25, 1940 in Johnstown, PA, he was a son of the late John H. and Elizabeth M. Young Boxler. A graduate of the Franklin High School in Johnstown, Mr. Boxler retired after 36 1/2 years of employment from the Fort James Corporation. He then went on to retire from the Franklin Learning Center where he had worked for five years. He was a member of Mt. Union United Methodist Church in Fayetteville where he had served as a Trustee. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Noel Boxler, whom he married August 13, 1960; three children, Michael D. Boxler and wife Donna of Chambersburg, Kenneth J. Boxler and wife Kristie of Scotland, and David B. Boxler and wife Stephannie of Chambersburg; five grandchildren, Kendra, Kelly, Andrew, Ryan, and Allyson; and three step-grandchildren, Megan, Victoria, and Josh. He is also survived by four brothers, John, Robert, Ronald, and Donald; and two sisters, Betty and Jean. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen and Barbara; and two brothers, Harry and Ranny.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, December 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Trish Brandt officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday.
