Teddy Bowers

Teddy L. Bowers, 87, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023 in the Chambersburg Hospital. Born October 6, 1935 in Shippensburg, PA he was the son of the late Arthur Bowers and Mary (Cummings) Eichelberger.

Ted was employed for the Borough of Chambersburg as the lead gas technician. He retired January 1, 1998 after 42 years of service. He was a member and past president of the Local Union 246 as well as serving on the Board of Directors Council 13, Harrisburg, PA.

Ted was a member of the VFW Post 1599, the Chambersburg Club, Landis-McCleaf Marine Corps, AMVETS Post 224, and the Moose Club all in Chambersburg. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, hunting, drinking a cold Miller Lite, and camping at Saunderosa. Ted was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 39 years, Kay L. (Bowling) Bowers who he married April 6, 1984; a son, Timmy L. Bowers and his wife Tammy; two step-sons, Keith Stevick and his wife Kelly and Tim Stevick and his companion, Rachel Lockwood; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his step father, Paul Eichelberger; son, Ricky L. Bowers; daughter Patty Sue Nunemaker and her husband Dave; a grandson David Nunemaker; and a sister, Dorothy Shaffer and her husband Bob.

Services will be held 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday afternoon in the funeral home.
