Teddy King

Teddy M. King, 80, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born September 6, 1934 in Uniontown, PA, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Ethel M. Hafer King.

Teddy was employed by James River for 28 years until his retirement in 1996. He then worked at Majestic Ridge Golf Club for ten years. He was a member of the BPO Elks 600 in Chambersburg. What he most loved was spending time with his grandchildren at the beach and attending their sporting events. He coached several youth baseball organizations and was a founding member of the South Hamilton Baseball Association.

Teddy is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Mills King; three sons, Jeffrey A. King (Pamela Jo) of Chambersburg, Stephen M. King (Rene P.) of Columbia, SC, and Troy T. (Julie) of Chambersburg; six grandchildren, Jennifer A. Reed (Cody) of Chambersburg, Janelle A. King of Chambersburg, Allyson E. King of Charleston, SC, Benjamin B. King of Columbia, SC, Tucker T. King of Chambersburg, and Tobin T. King of Chambersburg; three great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Addyson, and Hailey; a sister, Audrey Barnhart of Hagerstown, MD; three nehpews; and four nieces. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; one sister and a very influential person in his life, Gwendolyn Eicher.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 9:00 PM on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Funeral services will be private. Interment will be held in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the South Hamilton Community Association, P. O. Box 1459, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
