Terry Ellis Ward, 80, of Chambersburg, passed unexpectedly in Chambersburg Hospital, Saturday October 26th, 2024. He was born Wednesday June 14th, 1944, to the late Floyd and Ruby Ward in Chambersburg. He married the love of his life, Janet Lowe Ward, on July 30th, 1971.
Terry is survived by his wife; daughter, Wendy Shrader and husband Ryan of Chambersburg; son, Mathew Ward and wife Debbie of West Chester; four grandchildren, Owen Shrader, Courtlyn Shrader, Maya Ward and Henry Ward; brother, Dana Ward of Pasco, WA, and sister Holly Hartzok of Chambersburg; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and two beloved dogs, Molly and Buddy. Aside from his parents, Terry is preceded in death by one brother, Dennis Ward; an infant granddaughter and an infant grandson.
Terry proudly served in the Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He also received a Bachelor’s Degree from Shippensburg University in criminal justice. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. Rarely did he pass up an opportunity to be outdoors; he loved to hunt, fish, hike and bird watching. He enjoyed finding used discarded golf balls to clean and re-sell; was well known for to the local and vacationing guest golfers. He was also a huge fan of country and western music.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday November 23, 2024, at Salem Cemetery on Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg, Rob Peck officiating.
