Thelma M. Campbell, 93, of Chambersburg, passed away on Sunday morning, January 15, 2017 at Shook Home. Born July 29, 1923 in Letterkenny Township, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin L. and Rosa Zeek Landis. Her husband of 50 years, Hays M. Campbell, preceded her in death on July 12, 2003.
Thelma was a 1943 graduate of the former Chambersburg High School. Early in her life she worked at Wolf Company and the Chambersburg Hospital. She was later employed as a secretary at Letterkenny Army Depot until her retirement in 1979 after 19 years of service. Thelma was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church and its Women’s Bible Class.
She is survived by eight nephews and three nieces. In addition to her patents and husband, Thelma was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Ralph, Guy and Blaine Landis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 20, 2017 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Rachel Wong will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery.
