Theodore W. “Ted” Strine, 67, of St. Thomas, PA, passed away peacefully while camping with his wife at Saunderosa Campground in Little Cove where he loved spending time. Born January 22, 1954 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harold Strine, Sr. and Dorothy Summers Strine. He was employed at T.B. Woods Sons, Inc. in Chambersburg for more than 20 years and then worked in the Steam Plant at Shippensburg University for 20 years prior to his retirement. In addition to camping at Saunderosa, he enjoyed drag racing in his 1966 Comet; going on cruises with his wife; and doing diamond art puzzles. He was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion and the Marine Corps League, both in Chambersburg.
Ted is survived by his wife, Joann Hager Strine, whom he married August 28, 1976; his daughter, Jennifer L. Lester (Jesse) of Mercersburg; his son, Nicholas W. Strine of St. Thomas; four grandchildren, Kelby, Kya, and Kora Lester, and Ava Strine; two sisters, Betz Stitely and Doris Roberts (Robert), all of Chambersburg; and his brother, Fred Strine (Gloria) of Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin sister, Margaret “Peg” Bivens, and his brother, Harold “Buck” Strine, Jr.
A service to celebrate Ted’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 1, 2021, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Robert Butts will officiate. Interment will be private.
