Theodore "Ted" Suders

Theodore M. “Ted” Suders, 78, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at ManorCare Health Services. Born December 13, 1937 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harry M. and Helen Viola Robinson Suders. Ted was and US Army veteran and had been employed throughout his lifetime at the Chambersburg Laundry, Wilson College, Grove Manufacturing, and De Rose Industries. He was last employed at Knouse Foods. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his companion of 16 years, Freda McMullen; his daughter, Patty Woodal of St. Thomas; his son, Gary Lee Shatzer of Greencastle; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Jim Barrick; his sister-in-law, Betty Suders; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty J. Shatzer Suders; his daughter, Helen Louise Suders; a great-grandson; and a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, August 29, 2016 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. John Pogue will officiate. Private interment will be in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
