Thomas Allen Andree, 59, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 11, 2022. Born December 7, 1962 in Washington, PA, he was a son of Douglas N. Andree, Sr. of Florida and the late Joan Marie Pounds Andree. A graduate of the Chartiers-Houston High School, Tom went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He honorably served his country with the United States Army from 1982 until his discharge in 2005. During his military career he tested weapons and artillery at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal; Army Achievement Medal; Global War On Terrorism Service Medal; Army Superior Unit Award; Army Good Conduct Medal; Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal; National Defense Service Medal; Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device; Armed Forces Reserve Medal; Noncommissioned Officer’s Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 2; Army Service Ribbon; Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon; Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge With Rifle Bar; Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge With Grenade Bar; and the Driver and Mechanic Badge With Driver-W Bar. Following his retirement from the military he worked with his brother at Douglas Andree Pools. Tom enjoyed shooting and motorcycles. He was a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn Tyler Andree and three brothers and their families, James R. Andree, his wife Jill, their son Jason Andree (Brooke) and their daughter Jessica Owens (Rocky), Dean D. Andree and his sons Dean Andree, Jr. and Christopher Andree, and Douglas N. Andree, Jr., his wife Paula, and their daughters Tiffany Robinson (Bryar), Brittany Andree (Mike Wilson), and Jade Andree (Mike Hilliard), and their son, Trey Andree (Lauren Zody). In addition to his mother, Tom was preceded in death by his son, Ryan Thomas Andree, and a niece, Ashley Andree.
The family will receive friends at a viewing to be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Interment services with military honors will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, September 19, 2022 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
