Thomas L. “Tom” Carbaugh, Jr. (SSG, USA Ret.) age 43, of Leesville, LA, and formerly of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, May 27, 2016. Born August 28, 1972, in Chambersburg, he is the son of Monta Rae Shaw Beaver and her husband, Terry of Chambersburg, PA and Thomas L. Carbaugh, Sr. and his wife, Edna of Chambersburg, PA.
Tom was a 1991 graduate of CASHS. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves for 2 years after graduating High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he spent 20 years, earning the rank of SSG. He was awarded numerous medals, during his career, including the Bronze Star. Tom enjoyed fishing, his four wheeler, boat, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 22 years, Victoria Davis Carbaugh, whom he married on August 7, 1993; three children, Clinton, Trenton (wife Ashley), and Kylie Carbaugh; four grandchildren, Maddison Curtis, Addison and Paisley Phillips, and Hudson Carbaugh; and two siblings, Correna Culbertson and Russell Millhouse.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 6, 2016, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Rev. Doyle Rogers will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 5 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Monday June 6 at 2:30 PM.
