Thomas Cristiano

April 6, 1934 — January 30, 2015

Thomas A. Cristiano, 80, of Fayetteville, and formerly of Yonkers, NY, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 30, 2015 at The Village of Laurel Run. Born on April 6, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of the Guiseppi and Filomena Lofredo Cristiano. Tom spent his career in the banking industry, retiring as a Vice-President of HSBC branch in Yonkers, NY 1994. He was a Past President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Yonkers, where he played Santa Claus, distributing gifts to children who were hospitalized, some with terminal illness. Tom, during his portrayal of Santa, also visited the Children’s Home for Orphan’s. He was a member and Past President of Yonkers Lions Club and a member of Boys Town of Italy, a group that did a lot of community outreach and fundraising. After moving to Fayetteville, Tom remained active, serving as President of Chambersburg Philatelic Society and being an active member of Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rita A. Cristiano, whom he married on September 11, 1955; a daughter, Rita Marie Yee and husband Arthur of Franklin Park, NJ; a son, Joseph Cristiano and wife Mary Ann of Stormville, NY; 3 grandchildren, Stephen and Erika Cristiano and Francina Yee; and a brother, Paul Cristiano and wife Elenore. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Cristiano and sister, Rosina Gentile.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 6, 2015 at 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. 17202. Rev. William Dick will officiate. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 5, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
