Thomas Edward Massingale, 62, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in the emergency room of Chambersburg Hospital. Born May 13, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH, he was the son of the late Clarence Edward and Thelma Wilson Massingale. He served honorably with the United States Army and the National Guard. He had formerly been employed with Business Telephone Service in Chambersburg and at Level 3 Communications in Harrisburg. He was currently employed as an Electronics Technician at Letterkenny Army Depot. Thom attended a Baptist church while living in California and currently attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg. He was a member of Detrich-Brechbill Post 612 in St. Thomas, Veteran of the Vietnam War Post 41 in Chambersburg, and the IMRG Susquehanna Chapter 1903 motorcycle club. He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara Wilson Massingale, whom he married August 2, 1995; his step-daughter, Angelic Cunningham (Jason) of Boynton Beach, FL; his step-son, Ty Woods (Charlene) of Chambersburg; and three step-grandchildren, Braylon, Ashlyn, and Isaac. He is also survived by three sisters, Etta Massingale, Clarice Joyner (Randall), and Dolores McNeal (Jim); a niece, Lisa Smith (Dan) and their daughters Claire and Jaclyn; and two nephews, Greg Joyner and Adam McNeal (Ellie), and their daughter Annie.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Adam McNeal will officiate. Interment with military honors will be at 1:30 PM on Monday at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
