Thomas George Pastor, 80, of Fayetteville, PA, and formerly of Glassport, PA, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born November 10, 1936 in Glassport, PA, he was the son of the late George and Anastasia Zakczewski Pastor. Tom was a graduate of Glassport High School and attended both Penn State and Duquesne Universities. He served honorably with the US Army and the National Guard. Tom worked most of his life in finance, as Manager at Associates Financial Services in McKeesport, PA for twenty-five years and then as the Mortgage Closing and Appraisal Officer at Allegheny Mortgage Corporation in White Oak, PA. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, B.P.O. Elks Lodge #600, and Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15. Tom was a past president of the Eleventh Court Condo Association at Penn National and a member of the Penn National Men’s Golf League. Tom was also past committee chairman of the Duquesne Golf Club, West Mifflin, PA. He had a passion for golf; loved cooking and baking; was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates; and enjoyed working with electronics and computers. He was a “Mr. Fix-it”, and a mentor to many throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting and school activities.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy June England Pastor, who he married April 27, 1957; his daughter, Cheryl Anne Wozniak (husband Daniel) of Sinking Spring, PA; son Thomas Dean Pastor (wife Dorothy) of Newburg, PA; and grandchildren Danielle Lauren Wozniak, Calli Jo Pastor, and Thomas Frank Pastor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dolly Schleifer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by The Very Rev. Luis R. Rodrigues, V.F. at Noon on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until services begin at Noon on Friday at the church. Interment will be private.
