Timothy Gamby

Timothy E. Gamby, 61, of Chambersburg, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Grand Strand Medical Center of Myrtle Beach, SC. Born on December 24, 1953 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Helen Oberholzer Gamby, of Providence Place Chambersburg, and the late Floyd Gamby. Tim was a graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School with the class of ’71. For the last six years he was an owner/operator of Harbaugh Coin Machines, along with his son-in-law, Matt Sattazahn. Previously he worked over 30 years for Jennings Chevrolet in Chambersburg. He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, VFW Post 1599, the Marine Corps League, Sons of the American Legion Post 46, and Sons of the AmVets Post 224, all in Chambersburg. Tim was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast, an avid Penn State fan, he loved golfing, traveling with his wife, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Aside from his mother, Tim is survived by his wife, Patti Gillan Gamby, whom he married on June 29th, 1974; two children, Matthew Gamby (Tammy) of Chandler, AZ and Lindsay Sattazahn (Matt) of Chambersburg; brother, Rodney Gamby (Patty) of Alexandria, VA; and sister, Ginger Miller (Bill) of Bernville, PA. He will be forever loved and especially missed by his four grandchildren, Alyssa and Justin Gamby, and Darya and Ben Sattazahn. Funeral services to honor Tim’s life will be held at 10 AM on Friday, November 20, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd. Chambersburg, with the Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-8 PM, with the family present to greet from 6-8 PM. They will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Franklin/Fulton Division, 1019 Mumma Rd. Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
