Timothy E. Snyder, 84 of Chambersburg, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, January 1, 2024 at his home with his family by his side. Born September 11, 1939 in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late James and Florence (Eshelman) Snyder.
A long time truck driver, Tim drove over 7 million miles during his career, primarily for K.L. Herring Transportation, out of Berks County, PA. He and his wife, Geneva, also a truck driver, got to experience traveling through all 50 states during their years together. Aside from driving truck, Tim just enjoyed taking road trips with his family. Although he logged long hours on the road, there was never a doubt what his first priority in his life was; his family.
Timothy and his wife shared 65 years of marriage together, getting married on July 19th, 1958; together they had four children; Annette Burk (Dave) of Chambersburg, Phillip Snyder (Stephanie) of Fayetteville, T. Michael Snyder (Skot) of Montandon, and Jason Snyder (Candace) of Chambersburg; grandchildren; Jeremy, Tawnee, Devin, Makaeson, Grayson, Alex, Cyruss and Gabby; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; sister, Shirley Powell of Hagerstown; and his beloved pets, Jamie the dog and Oscar the cat. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard and Ronald Snyder.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2024, in the Chapel of the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA, where Chaplain Karen Brown will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
