Tomoko (Aramaki) Rader of Fayetteville, PA was called home by the Lord on December 5, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, PA. Death was unexpected and was attributed to complications of a hemorrhagic stroke. On January 5, 1966 at the American Embassy Annex in Tokyo, Japan she married her lifetime sole-mate Bryan Gail Rader currently residing at their home in Fayetteville, PA and formerly of Mill Creek, WV. Tomoko was a Navy wife for over 20 years following Bryan as he completed his Navy career in Yokosuka, Japan, San Diego, CA, Oakland, CA and Virginia Beach VA. She kept the family together and ran the household while Bryan was in the Navy. Tomoko was a Navy Ombudsman and active in Navy wives clubs. Tomoko became a U.S. citizen in 1970 at San Diego, CA.
Tomoko and Bryan moved to Fayetteville, PA from Virginia Beach, VA in September 1992. Tomoko was a very considerate person, full of life and never met a stranger. Everyone who knew Tomoko liked her. She shared her dreams and thoughts with her two best friends Tina Cook and Penny Thomas. Tomoko was a customer service person at the Chambersburg, PA Wal-Mart store for 15 years before retiring in 2006.
Tomoko loved her flower garden, her house flowers and enjoyed collecting a wide variety of purses and shoes. She also enjoyed doing complex jigsaw puzzles and framing them.
Tomoko was born in Kitakyushu City, Kyushu Island, Japan on September 22, 1943 the daughter of mother Toshiko Aramaki and father Tadashi (Ikeda) Aramaki. Bryan and Tomoko have three children, Steven Bryan Rader (deceased in 1966 at Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan, age 35 days), Kenneth Gale Rader of Tennessee and Teresa Elaine (Rader) Straseskie of Virginia Beach, Virginia. They are blessed with four grandchildren Nathan Bryan Mathew Rader, Madison Aya Straseskie, Jaiden Yvonne Straseskie and Gabrielle Muki Pullen all of Virginia Beach, VA. Tomoko has one sister Ritsuko Aramaki and two nephews in the Kitakyushu City area of Japan.
Tomoko was preceded in death by her son Steven, her mother, her father and her in-laws Jessie Gail Rader and Texie Mae (Williams) Rader formerly of Mill Creek, WV. Tomoko will be sorely missed by many but will be especially missed by her sole-mate and husband of over 45 years, Bryan. Goodbye sweet lady and may God bless you in your new home. You are already missed. The good Lord has added another angel to his choir.
In the Japanese tradition, Tomoko requested her remains be cremated. A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1 PM; where Rev. Dr. B. Glen Rader will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will occur at a later date at the Old Brick Cemetery in Huttonsville, WV. Tomoko was a lover of flowers and would appreciate flowers in her memory.
