Tyler Austin Peters, age 16, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away unexpectedly as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Born December 2, 1998, in Chambersburg, he was the son of Wesley A. Peters and Tammy L. Peters.
A student, at the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Tyler was eager to attend the Franklin County Career and Technology Center this Fall. Tyler was a thoughtful and caring individual, who often would care for others’ needs before his own. He had a strong work ethic, working three jobs, including working at McDonalds, Hillside Poultry, and assisting Ms. Susan Rauch with her household and yard duties. Tyler thoroughly enjoyed cars, he spent countless hours working on cars, including helping his Dad rebuild and restore his Monte Carlo. He had an adventurous spirit, which led him to enjoying four-wheeling, fishing, hunting, the N.Y. Giants, and kayaking.
In addition to his parents, Tyler is survived by his step-parents, Mary Peters and Jeremy Atherton; his paternal grandfather, Douglas Peters (Gail Foor) Paternal grandmother, Jacqueline Seville (John Breneman); his maternal grandparents, Paul and Joann Rudisill and Pat Nelson; four siblings, Kayla Sites, Kaden Peters, J.T. (Jeremy) Atherton, and Connor Peters, who is enroute; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Friends.
Funeral services to honor Tyler’s life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015, at 11AM in the Chapel of Thomas of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA; where Pastor Floyd Myers will officiate. The family will receive friends in the funeral home on Sunday, July 12, 2015, from 3 – 5 PM and two hours prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow the service in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
