Velva J. Rosenberry

Velva J. Rosenberry, 80, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born January 5, 1944 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Wilber and Julia Gilbert Stevens. Her beloved husband Richard L. Rosenberry, preceded her in death on May 12, 2011. 

Velva was a 1962 graduate of Big Spring High School. She was employed as a secretary and later a computer technician with DESCOM at Letterkenny Army Depot until her retirement in 1993. Velva was a lifelong member of Oakville United Methodist Church and had most recently been attending King Street Church in Chambersburg. She was a dedicated caregiver to her grandchildren and great grandchild and enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting and crafting. Most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family.

Velva is survived by two children, Angela Grove and husband Keith, and Gregory Rosenberry, both of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Ashlynn Hartman, Alec Grove and Cole Grove; one great granddaughter, Aubrey Newman; and several nieces and nephews. Aside from her husband and parents, Velva was preceded in death by her daughter Marci Jo Rosenberry; and brother, Marlin Stevens.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 30, 2024, in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202. Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
