Vera Lehman

Vera M. Frey Lehman, 94, of Chambersburg, died Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Menno Haven. Born January 24, 1923, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Sarah Cockley Frey.

Mrs. Lehman worked on the family farm with her husband along Mower Road near Chambersburg for many years, prior to retirement. Mrs. Lehman enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and volunteering.

She is survived by five children, Donald Lehman (wife Annette C.) of Shady Grove, Wayne Lehman (wife Karen E), Kenneth Lehman (wife Lara M), Lester Lehman (wife Tina M.), all of Chambersburg; and Jane Martin (husband Chester D.) of Mercersburg; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey M. Lehman on July 23, 2008, and two siblings, Paul and Clyde Frey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017, in the Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg. The Rev. Jerry Roth will officiate. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday in Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg and one hour prior to the service in church on Thursday.
