Vera E. Zimmerman, 87, a resident of Menno Haven Nursing Center, died Tuesday June 21, 2011 in Menno Haven. Born on August 8, 1923 in Church Hill, Peters Township, Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Harry N. and Edna Shelly Etter. Vera was a member of AARP Chapter 2287 and America Legion Post #517 Auxillary. She spent 29 years working as a bank teller at F&M Trust, prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her loving husband, Charles, whom she married on July 2, 1941. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Fritz of Chambersburg, PA; a brother, Richard Etter, of Yuma, AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted on Friday June 24, 2011 at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Ruzicka will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
