Verna Hollinshead

Verna Marie Hollinshead, age 89 of Fayetteville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Village of Laurel Run. Born October 29, 1924 in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bruce and Anna B. Stover Wiles.
A homemaker most of her adult life, Mrs. Hollinshead, enjoyed caring for her family, crocheting, cross stitch and making crafts. She was a member of King Street United Brethren Church.
Surviving are three children, Gary E. Hollinshead (wife Judy) of New Franklin, Sandra J. Cooper (husband Wesley) of Chambersburg, PA, and Aleta Anne Groat (husband Doug) of Kyles Ford, TN; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Hollinshead on May 29, 2013; a grandson, Jeffrey Hamsher; and three sisters, Kathyrn Bowers, Vera Divelbiss, and Mary Hawley.
A private graveside service will be held in Norland Cemetery, with Rev. Paul B. Baker officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Village of Laurel Run, 6375 Chambersburg, Rd. Fayetteville, PA 17222.
