Verne V. Mooney, 87, formerly of Marvern Drive, Chambersburg, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2011 in Menno Haven of Chambersburg. Born on June 29, 1924 in Shippensburg, he was a son of the late Lawrence and Mary Gontz Mooney. He was the widower of Margaret Holden Mooney, who preceded him in death on February 17, 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Victoria (and husband, Edmund) Walters of Wilmington, DE, and Marlene Mooney of Chesterfield, VA; one sister, Mary Snoke of Chambersburg, PA; five grandchildren, Lisa, Susan, Michael, James, and Jonathan, and two great grandchildren, Shawn and Katelyn. In accord with Verne’s wishes, there will be no services.
