Violet Pool

Violet R. Pool age 90, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away at Menno Haven on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Born June 23, 1928, in Shade Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Dallas and Annie Shore Carlin.
Mrs. Pool worked as a seamstress for a number of years starting at the former J. Schoenman Company and retiring from the Ft. Loudon Sewing Company in 1988. She enjoyed attending The Open Door Church, attending, the Jolly 60’s Club at Church, canning, gardening, sewing, hunting, taking in the outdoors, good music, and family gatherings.
Surviving are four children, Richard C. Pool (wife Sandy) of England, AR, Carolyn J. Watson (husband David) of Chambersburg, PA, Pamela L. Henderson (husband Joe) of Chambersburg, PA, and Steven E. Pool of England, AR; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Pool Adams, Richard C. Pool, Jr., John C. Watson, Rachel L. Watson, Nathan M. Watson, Titus J. Henderson, and Luke Pool; and four great-grandchildren, Charli Adams, Sloan Adams, Jack Watson, and Raegan Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles C. Pool in 2007; her infant daughter Penny E. Pool; siblings, David, Harold, Bertha, Mildred, Goldie, Fern, Howard, Keturah, Bernard, and Nelda; and daughter-in-law, Ann Pool.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 10 AM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Mike Sanders and Chaplains Brenda Doyle and Dan Summers will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 7-9 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will follow the service at 2 PM in Fair Ridge Assembly of God Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
