Virginia S. Gift, 86, of Chambersburg, PA passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing. Born May 6, 1937 in Hagerstown, MD she was the daughter of the late Floyd M. and Grace (Castle) Slifer.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chambersburg, the Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, and the Marine Corps both in Chambersburg. Virginia was an avid reader and card player. She enjoyed fishing, putting together puzzles and working word search books.
She is survived by two daughters, Robin Jerome and her husband Sean and Ginger Powell and her husband Homer both of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Brandalyn Thorpe, Johnathan Brindle, and Renee Myers; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Georgia Kauffman and her husband Ray; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings, Eugene Slifer, Dorothy Allee, and Betty Barklow.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Chambersburg.
