Vivian M. Hoover, 77, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away Saturday morning, July 10, 2021 at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born December 10, 1943 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Martin and Alice Kauffman Garber. Mrs. Hoover was a 1962 graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School. She was employed for 33 years at the former J. Schoeneman Company in Chambersburg and then went on to work at the Shippensburg Healthcare Center. A member of Coldspring Church in Fayetteville, Mrs. Hoover was a prayer warrior and loved reading her Bible. She volunteered for a number of years at the Shippensburg Senior Center and she enjoyed Word Find puzzles; traveling; and spending time with her family. Her husband, James E. Hoover, preceded her in death in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda K. Hoover of Chambersburg; six siblings, Winifred Shamblin of Orange Park, FL, Lorraine Gladfelter (Robert) of Chambersburg, Robert Martin of Orange Park, FL, Sara “Sally” Weller (Jeryl) of Chambersburg, Roseanna Nevius (John) of Onancock, VA, and Kathy Fultz (Dave) of Chambersburg; her step-mother, Masako Martin of Chambersburg; her brother-in-law, Gerald Klinedinst of Oklahoma City, OK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Klinedinst and Nancy Peters; her step-father, Kenneth Garber; and her step-mother, Blanche Martin. She will be missed by her canine companion, Missy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 15, 2021 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Kevin Davis will officiate. Interment will follow at Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
