Vivian Montgomery

Vivian M. Montgomery, 75, of Fayetteville, PA, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 25, 2011 at her home. Born January 4, 1936 in Reade Township, Cambria County, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Bertha A. McConell Wilson. A homemaker most of her life, Vivian enjoyed spending time traveling with her family, taking bus trips, and having yard sales. She also enjoyed spending Saturday evening at the jamboree in Orrstown listening to country music. She was a social member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #842, Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, and Hume-McNeil-Byers AMVETS Post 224. Her beloved husband, Harold J. Montgomery, preceded her in death on September 25, 1988.
Vivian is survived by three children, Nancy L. Souders and husband Roger of St. Thomas, Donald L. Montgomery and wife Stacie of Chambersburg, and Tina M. Sites and husband Daniel of Chambersburg; five granddaughters, Heather Landis and husband Jesse, Kati Bunker, Kelsey Sites, Danielle Kessler and husband Devin, and Ashley Sites; a grandson, Charles Souders; and three great-grandchildren, Isabel Ricker, and Carter and Spencer Kessler. Also surviving are two brothers, Larry Wilson and wife Nancy of Glasgow, PA and Robert Wilson and wife Erma of Mentor, OH three sisters, Verla Clouser of Macedonia, OH Sharon Kuhns of Mountaindale, PA and Jean McCartney of Blandburg, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews. Additionally she is survived by her long-time friend, Edward “Sonny” Seibert of Fayetteville, her canine companion Maggie, and her grand-dogs, Alex, Bella, and Kobe Joe. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary G. Montgomery on July 21, 2005, two brothers, Lonnie and Edward Wilson, and a sister, Eunice Wilson.
A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, 618 Martin Street, Bellwood, PA where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Logan Valley Cemetery.
