Wanda M. Carmack Morelock, 94, of Hedgesville, WV and formerly of Chambersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in her home. Born June 7, 1929 in Chambersburg she was the daughter of the late Harvey N. and Naomi A. (Stevens) Carmack.
She was a graduate of Chambersburg High school with the Class of 1947. Wanda was employed as a waitress at various restaurants throughout her career including the Hitching Post Inn, Chambersburg. She was a member of the American Legion Post 46, Chambersburg. She was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Chambersburg Hospital Auxiliary. Wanda enjoyed working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles and dancing.
She is survived by four children, Ginger D. Kline of Chambersburg, Leonard F. Rosenberry of Chambersburg, Deborah A. Mercer and her husband Joseph L., II of Hedgesville, WV, and Diana J. Diaz of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two siblings, Annalee M. Sellers and Merrill V. Carmack; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl W. Morelock; companion, Cloyd L. Hollinshead; two grandchildren, Dallas A. Coble and Dustin A. Kline; six siblings, Juanita L. Shatzer, Grandon W.H. Carmack, Vaughn H.N. Carmack, Reno J.J. Carmack, Leona E. Piper, and Shirley F. Murray; and a son-in-law, Ronald N. Kline.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with her son-in-law, Joseph L. Mercer, II officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday afternoon in the funeral home.
