Warren K. Rife, 75, of Chambersburg, PA, died unexpectedly Monday morning, October 26, 2015 at his home. Born May 1, 1940 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Melvin K. and Florence Leedy Rife. Warren was a graduate of both the former Chambersburg High School and the former Chambersburg Business School. He served with the US Army Reserve. He was co-owner of Rife Motor Company in Chambersburg for many years and had a life-long passion for his work. He was a charter member of The Open Door Church where he had served as a Lay Leader and Deacon. He taught the Men’s Bible Class and for many years volunteered his time to maintaining the church’s bus fleet. He served on the Advisory Board of the Diesel Mechanic program at the Franklin County Vo-Tech School for several years and enjoyed collecting carnival glass.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Lorraine Miller Rife; a brother, Edward K. Rife, Sr. and wife Nancy; and a sister, Gladys C. Bennett and husband Bud, all of Chambersburg. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert D. Rife on April 30, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 30, 2015 at The Open Door Church, 600 Miller Street, Chambersburg, PA. Pastor Mike Sanders will officiate. Interment will follow at Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
