Wayne L. Loar, age 57, of Chambersburg, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 24, 1959, in Frostburg, MD, he was the son of the late Elmer Walter and Mary Scott Loar.
Wayne was a welder by trade. He was a member of The Open Door Church and the Moose Lodge # 842 both of Chambersburg, PA. He enjoyed collecting marbles and slot cars. Wayne loved to go four wheeling with his ATVs and hanging out with his best friends, Jeremy McCartney, Charles Adcock, Berry Baker, and Steve Turner
Surviving is his wife of 32 years, Jackie Loar, whom he married on November 1, 1983, four siblings, John Loar (wife Helen), Elmer Loar, Jr. (wife Carol), Judy Murray (husband Dale), and Virginia Cecil, his father and mother in law, Doris and Frank Myers, two brothers in law, Blair Myers and Thomas Myers (wife Sherri), and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Pastor Trisha Brandt will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 1 from 6 – 8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
